I’ve asked myself this question so many times. I’ve always looked at other people and thought to myself, “I’ll never look like that!” or “This is so difficult!” The truth is that yes, losing weight and getting in shape is difficult because we want results and we want them fast!
The important thing to remember (and I’ve been reminding myself) is that results take time. It’s different for everyone. It could take months or years for some people to get to their goal weight. Here is what I’ve come to realize recently to start my journey:
- This is a lifestyle change. It’s a combination cardio, weight lifting, and nutrition changes. It’s hard but once you get into the habit, it’ll be so much easier!
- Have fun with exercising! I, personally, love weight lifting! Do activities you enjoy: walking, biking, swimming, elipticle, skateboarding, jogging, roller blading, dancing, etc.
- You have to start somewhere. Anywhere. Just get up and move! When you first begin your journey, you’re not going to be able to run 5 miles so start with a power walk and do as best as you can. Don’t overdo it on your first time!
- Results take time! Just remain positive and keep up with your routine.
I’m sorry everyone, I’ve been really busy lately with work and family but I promise that I am looking into healthy recipes and lifestyle changes! I’m also trying to come up with routines for yoga, kickboxing, toning “butts and guts” (aka abs, thighs, and butt), and weight lifting for upper and lower body!
Yesterday I walked 5 miles with my friend during the day, did a quick weight lifting routine for my arms, and cooled down with some yoga. Today I am going to do “extreme trampoline” (I’m not quite sure if this counts as cardio but it’s worth a shot, right?) and then plan on doing some more weight lifting and yoga tonight.
If you guys have any questions, please let me know and I’ll try to help as best as I can!
I hope this video motivates you the way it motivated me! What an amazing human being! Moral of the story: anyone can do it!

This is only a 10 minute workout but I guess you could repeat it or just elongate some of the steps/moves, right?
This is an 11 minute workout video but it seems fun and simple enough to get you back into exercising again!
Yoga Sun Salutations
I love sun salutations! It’s an easy way to warm up and even cool down. If you can’t stretch or do the pose to completion, do the best you can. Don’t overdo it! Sun salutations are an easy way to begin if you have never done yoga before.
